  • Torque: The Silverado 1500 produces more torque than the RAM 1500. With its base engine, the Chevy generates 305 lb-ft of torque, while the RAM offers 269 lb-ft. 
  • Transmission: The Silverado 1500 comes standard with a 6-speed automatic transmission, which can be swapped for an 8-speed automatic on higher trims. The RAM 1500 gets an 8-speed transmission on its base trim. 
  • Trailering Capacity: The RAM 1500 has a maximum trailer weight of 12,750 pounds, while the Silverado 1500 maximum towing capacity is 13,300 pounds with the 6.2L EcoTec V8 engine.

While the prices for the 2022 RAM 1500 are available, the only available price for the 2022 Silverado 1500 is its base price. We know that the RAM 1500’s highest trim level, the Limited, is going to have a starting price of $60,655. Overall, drivers will find they get better performance at a lower price with the Chevy Silverado over the RAM 1500.
