Chevrolet Tahoe Makes Changes for the 2021 Model Year

September 30th, 2020 by

Year after year, automotive manufacturers say the latest and greatest updates have been released.

For Chevrolet, it’s always the case.

Especially for the 2021 Tahoe.

With a fresh face and new features, the three-row SUV is a dream come true for families and people who require extra space for items like camping gear or sporting equipment.

Along with a roomier cabin, the updated SUV is equipped with its first independent rear suspension, new technology, and a diesel engine option.

The new body has an additional seven inches, which increases the cargo capacity as well as interior space. The additional body length is possible thanks to the independent rear suspension.

That independent rear suspension allows the wheels on the same axle to move independently from each other, allowing for greater traction control on uneven surfaces.

New Chevy Tahoe Engine Options & Fuel Economy

Hauling a horse trailer or helping a friend move has never been easier.

Fans of the Tahoe are familiar with the powerful V8 engine, and that power can be found in the latest generation.

Now the 5.3-liter 355 horsepower and 6.2-liter 420 horsepower blocks and joined by a 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine. This update gives consumers another opportunity to get what they’re looking for in an SUV and pick the best option to suit their needs.

No matter which option you choose, the SUV will certainly do more for you than get you from Point A to Point B. A combined fuel rating of 18 miles per gallon city/highway means getting more jobs done.

Interior & Cargo Space

But all of that power doesn’t mean drivers and passengers will experience a crowded interior.

Cargo space has been increased by 66% behind the third row to 25.5 cubic feet, thanks in part to a load floor that is nearly half a foot lower.

But this increased cargo space doesn’t come at the expense of passenger comfort. In fact, passengers in the second row will enjoy seats that slide forward and backwards.

Those in the third row will appreciate the addition 40% more leg room than previous generations.

With the second and third rows folded, cargo space increases to an astonishing 122.9 cubic feet of space, which is 28 more cubic feet than previous years.

If you only need the third row folded, 72.6 cubic feet of cargo space can be utilized.
